Jeffrey B. Scheer is a partner with the firm and a member of the Healthcare Practice Group and Business Practice Group. He is a 1996 graduate of The State University of New York at Buffalo Law School and received his Bachelor of Arts (with Honors) in Political Science from the University of Rochester in 1993. Jeffrey focuses his practice on general corporate law; commercial transactions involving closely held companies and healthcare related entities; and non-qualified employee benefit plans. He is involved in forming and advising closely-held businesses and healthcare practices in several aspects of their business operations and transactional matters, including acquisitions, mergers and sales, non-qualified, deferred compensation matters, equity-related employee benefit matters, employment issues, shareholder/principal relations, contract negotiation, succession planning and state and federal tax planning. He has prepared private placement memoranda and securities filings for Regulation D offerings and State Blue Sky offerings. Jeffrey also assists clients with the qualification and operation of not-for-profit tax-exempt organizations and family foundations.
Jeffrey is admitted to practice in New York State and the Commonwealth of Massachusetts and is a member of the New York State, Massachusetts and Onondaga County Bar Associations.
Jeffrey currently serves as a member of the Jewish Health & Rehabilitation Center and the Syracuse Jewish Federation. He is also a member of the Board of Trustees for the Public Broadcasting Council of Central New York, Inc. (WCNY).
