Susan Fortin Lesser joined the firm in 1990 and has been a partner since 1998. She is a member of the Healthcare Practice Group. Prior to her joining the Healthcare Practice Group, Susan’s work focused on civil and commercial litigation. From 1988-1990, Susan was the Law Clerk to the Honorable Irad S. Ingraham, State Supreme Court, 6th Judicial District.
Susan’s practice is concentrated in the area of health law, corporate/partnership regulatory compliance and professional discipline, and managed care contracting.
Susan provides representation to a broad range of healthcare clients, such as group medical practices, joint ventures, POs, PHOs and IPAs. Susan has a variety of experience with issues facing healthcare providers such as civil and criminal healthcare fraud and abuse investigation, defense and prevention; civil litigation matters; Medicare and regulatory compliance; disability insurance matters; entity formation and employment issues; and professional discipline matters.
Susan's current work principally involves representing and advising physician organizations, managed care contracting, and representing and advising clients in professional licensing and credentialing matters, payor audits (including Medicare) and compliance issues. Susan also counsels healthcare-related businesses and professionals regarding operational and transactional matters and employment issues.
