Michael J. Compagni joined the firm in 1996. He is now a partner in the firm’s Healthcare Practice Group where he concentrates his practice in the areas of health law and corporate / partnership / business law, representing physicians, dentists and other healthcare professionals.

Mike’s health law work principally involves counseling healthcare-related businesses and their professional owners regarding operation and transactional matters, including structuring integrated delivery systems, joint ventures and other affiliations (with an emphasis on compliance with state and federal anti-kickback, self-referral ("Stark") and fraud and abuse statutes), regulatory compliance, acquisitions, mergers and sales of healthcare-related businesses and organizations, as well as employment issues, entity formation and succession planning.

Mike also has substantial practice experience in transactional banking (representing lenders in all facets of loan transactions), general business law (including preparation and negotiation of shareholders agreements, employment agreements, licensing agreements, incorporation documents, and representing a national franchiser in the peaceful repossession of franchisee’s assets) and commercial real estate matters (including representing developers in commercial real estate acquisition and development matters, obtaining necessary easements, assuring zoning compliance and coordinating condemnation proceedings).
